This is a challenging but professionally rewarding role that requires a person with a wide range of skills and experience to lead on delivering a programme of activities and outcomes.
Firstly, you will require good knowledge / experience of Early Learning & Childcare (ELC) pathways into employment within the ELC sector. Working with one other colleague, you will be the lead officer on ensuring the successful delivery of the programme and achievement of its outcomes so excellent project management skills will be required along with the ability to develop close working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders – including Scottish Government, Local Authorities, Skills Scotland and ELC employers. Experience of working with, or empathy with ethnic minority (EM) communities will also be important as the main focus of the job is to organise and deliver events and talks throughout Scotland to EM groups / communities. You will also be required to provide ad hoc employment support (e.g. job applications, interview skills) to EM people seeking ELC jobs / training and so experience or sound knowledge of job search skills will be an advantage. ELC training and employment opportunities will also need to be promoted through promotional materials, CEMVO website, social media, newsletters, mailings, etc, and so good experience / knowledge of marketing / promotional activities will be highly useful.
CEMVO Scotland is a national intermediary organisation with the aim of building the capacity and sustainability of the ethnic minority (EM) voluntary sector and its communities. We are working in partnership with the Scottish Government to deliver a national awareness raising campaign to recruit people from ethnic minority communities into Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Sector training and jobs. To help us deliver this partnership programme, we are seeking to recruit the following posts:
